Facts About Me ...

1. I am a wife, a mother to a 6 year old four legged child, and hope and pray to be a mother soon! :)

2. I enjoy a good Mark Wahlberg movie and have been know to have Marky Mark movie marathons on Netflix.

3. I love reading Southern books - my favorites are Fannie Flagg and Rick Bragg.

4. I also love creating lists - to do lists, grocery lists, etc. It helps me keep my head uncluttered.

5. One of my favorite things to do is ride through historical areas and look at the architecture. One of my dreams as a little girl was to become a historical architect.

6. I also enjoy drawing house plans, which I haven't done in quite a while. In high school, with the help of my dad, we designed a house that someone actually built.

7. My favorite food to eat when Ken is out of town is sauerkraut and turkey smoked sausage with a little hot sauce. So delicious, and it completely grosses Ken out. So that is why I wait to enjoy it without someone gagging.

8. In college, I was in a washboard band with 10 of my best friends. I played the shakers in the Personality Section.

9. I cannot make it through my day without Pandora. I listen to it as I get ready in the mornings, at school, and in the evenings.

10. I am related to Delta Burke. Her mother and my grandfather were first cousins. I have never met her but would love too!

11. I feel like I am living my dream of being married to a wonderful man!

Questions from Joy to answer ...

What was the best part of 2011 for you? The best part of 2011 for me was getting my new job as an eighth grade science teacher, teaching the same students that I have been with for the past 3 years!

If you were given the choice to have a maid or chef which would you choose? I would definitely choose a maid to help keep up with everything. I enjoy cooking too much, although meals seems to taste better when cooked by someone else.

What does love mean to you? Love means many different things to me, but mostly loving through the good, the bad, and the downright ugly. This could be loving someone who is hard to love, loving your dog after they chewed the corners off of your window seals, or your not so pretty kitchen as well as receiving love even when you think you don't deserve it. With love come fun times and forgiveness.

What's one piece of advice you can give this future wife? You will discover new things about your spouse every day. Some things will be wonderful and some will be not so wonderful. Remember, they also learning things from you. Show love even if it is tough. Communication is the key. Always appreciate the good and tell them so.

Do you make your bed every morning? Of course! Ken and I make the bed together. He has to ensure that the sheets are a certain way. Me, on the other hand, just want to make the room nice.

Are you a couch or recliner type of person? Couch. I have more room. :)

Super bowl... which do you like more... the game, the entertainment, the commercials, or the food? The food!  It is always so delicious!

What got you to start blogging? Reading Brittany's blog! I enjoyed her post and decided to give it a try!

You've been given a lazy day, what do you plan to do all day? Lay on the couch and read ALL DAY LONG!

Cheesecake, chocolate cake or apple pie? Cheesecake, hands down.

And only because it never fails that someone will ask you this in life... If you could be a color, what color would you be?!  This is a tough one. I think I will have to go with yellow because currently it is my signature color. It makes me smile every time I see it!

Firsts

Last year on this date, I experienced many firsts. I ate at Bonefish Grill for the first time. Had my very first taste of Bang Bang Shrimp (I don't even like seafood, but often crave this dish!), and got a proposal that will last a lifetime! It was so much fun to write Ken a note this morning in church (during the special music) asking him what was going through his mind this time last year! I loved watching as a smile came over his face! Bless his heart he later told me that he did not get a lot of sleep the night before. I am sure he had a lot on his mind. He went and talked to my daddy that morning, did a victory dance afterwards (I am so thankful that my sister Alana is always so nosey and enjoys looking out the window), and then of course had to ask me if I will marry him. He knew I would say yes! He had already booked the honeymoon!
Ken had the sweetest proposal - a very live by the moment type. It still makes me smile! After eating at Bonefish, we went back to my house to watch movies. We both had colds so I went to get some tissue from the pantry. When I turned around, he was just looking at me with the biggest smile, I had every seen on his handsome face. When I went over to him, he drew me close and said, "Your heart is beating so fast! Is it because of this?" He pulled a black box out of his pocket, and well, you know the rest! I love my ring!
When he was telling me about his journey at picking out my ring, I got tickled at him when he said he read an article about selecting the right ring. The article suggested you look at the jewelry that your significant other wears - simple or flashy. He knew that sparkly would only do for me!

The next day, my sister, Brook, took some really great engagement pictures of us!

Ken, I enjoyed reminiscing with you today! You are the very best! I love you very much! I hope that we reach our goal of celebrating our 75th anniversary with a Smuckers Shout Out on the Today Show! We will be 103!

Engagement and Wedding and Everything in Between!

We got engaged on January 31, 2009! We went to BoneFish Grill for a nice dinner and then back to my house. We both had colds, so I was getting tissue. Ken was just watching me with this huge smile on his face! I went over to hug him, and he said, "Your heart is racing! Is it because of this?" He pulls out the ring, asked me to marry him, and I said yes!

Engagement Pictures taken by my sister, Brook. She did a great job, and we never minded modeling for her!

We painted some rooms in Ken’s house. I came one weekend and was welcomed by this!

Celebrated Easter

Very blessed with showers given by friends and family! It was so nice to see family and friends! We were very very blessed!

Wedding Weekend!

Got our nails did before the wedding!

REHEARSAL!

We had a wonderful rehearsal dinner. Ken’s mom and aunt did a wonderful job on the decorating the hall. The food was absolutely scrumptious! We were even surprised with “This is Your Life according to Panties” line and Ken received some interesting gifts from the wedding party! Such wonderful friends!

GOING TO THE CHAPEL … It was such a beautiful and wonderful day! We had so much fun though! I loved that my sisters and I rode to the church together! It was so special! My groom was so handsome! Bless his heart, I made him wait 45 minutes! He expected it though! Seeing me for the first time! So sweet!
The Wedding was so wonderful! We did not want traditional music. We wanted music to celebrate the happy occasion. Unforgettable – Nat King Cole, Today I Met the Boy I’m Going to Marry (seating of mothers), Make You Feel My Love by Adele for entrance of the bridal party, At Last – Etta James for my processional, slide show during the lighting of the unity candle, and All You Need is Love by the Beatles as they announced Mr. and Mrs. Ken Daniels! My Aunt Robin and her friend sang and played the piano. We were married by Dr. Ken Cooper and Bro. Terry “Fudd” Floyd. The ceremony was very beautiful! The flowers were gorgeous! We had a large crowd of family and friends!

Mr. and Mrs. Ken Daniels!!!!

RECEPTION

Our reception was HOT! It was one of the hottest days of the summer! We had so much fun! The food was delicious again! Connie Walker did the food and I cannot praise her enough! We had a receiving line. We wanted our guest to know that we really appreciated them coming! We also had a DJ and dance floor. My father built two arbors for the backyard that were beautiful! He built them about 2 weeks after we got engaged. I think he was ready to get one of his three girls married!!! We used them as entrances to the tents! Ken and I danced to “I Thought I Loved You Then” by Brad Paisley. Daddy and I danced to “Playing Cinderella.” The music was wonderful! We had so many people help us to have the best wedding! I could not have done it without them, especially Brenda Dean! It was so hot that afternoon that the cokes were exploding in the coolers! Everything was so beautful! I loved the tents! My lovely bridesmaids had the DJ play “Apple Bottom Jeans” as we ran to the car to begin our honeymoon at the Peabody and our cruise to Mexico.
