Dining Room

Our Dining Room is a mixture of family furniture and finds. It is more traditional than the rest of my house, and that is okay.

My mother gave us the table, chairs, and the china cabinet that I have filled with several pretty pieces that I have collected over the years.

I saved my graduation money from my grandparents to buy this buffet! My uncle gave me the lamps, and I got the mirror several years ago.

The vanity in the corner was another piece from my mother. I think at one time she was cleaning out her house, so I was one of the lucky recipients.

This piece is one of my favorites. You can read about it here. It has been on a long journey with me, and it just makes me smile every time I look at it.

I have been trying to rack my brain about wanting to add texture to the back of this cabinet - paint, wallpaper/gift wrap, or leave it alone? What to do, what to do?

This is what is currently on my table:

and lovely accessories.

I would really like to do some board and batten treatment on the wall to lighten up the dark furniture. I am still working on my husband about this. :)
