Weekend Highlights

I am a little behind in my blogging, so here is what we have been up too ...

I went and visited with family, friends, and gardens throughout Mississippi. I love going home and seeing people in their gardens or sitting on their porches and knowing that  you can stop and sit a spell. This is a lost art, that so needs to be popular again.

I was so glad to see Brooke and sweet Addison, Amber, the Payne's, and the Mills Clan as well as my grandparents and some of my Whaley Family!

I went and picked plums and blueberries with my daddy. We also went clearance shopping at Walmart and almost got thrown out! Apparently, signs saying that clearance is half off, doesn't mean that it really is.  We then went and got some Victor's Pizza and made everything better.

I have recently went yard sale hopping and have turned some one's trash to my treasures.

I met up with Middle Sister while in Mississippi, and we went to the Summer Avenue Drive in to see a double feature - Men in Black III and Hunger Games. I got to watch MIB III and only got to see half of Hunger Games because Maw-maw, here, had to go to bed because Middle Sister had a big day planned the next day that involved getting up early - Yard Sale Hopping!

I thought this book would be appropriate to read to my eighth graders. :)

It was worth it because we hit the mother load (apparently, we like to shop at older people's houses and Goodwill).

Funny story ... I was up and at 'em and Middle was still in the bed while I was saying, "Hello, the early bird gets the worm." Well, finally, she gets out of bed and puts on makeup which made me say, "Who wears makeup yard selling? I am good to have a bra on!" After going to the bank and going through the slowest McDonald's ever, we finally arrive at our destination. Guess who was tucking and rolling out of the car, and telling me I was slow? Middle Sister. Gotta love it!

We also went to the Tunica Outlets and had fried dill pickles at the Hollywood Cafe

Before leaving Mississippi, Middle and I celebrated Baby Sister's birthday by going to Brother Juniper's for breakfast.

Since I got home, we have been ...

Taking afternoon naps after spending the morning working in the yard ...

Eating sweet strawberries out of our "oops" patch and researching how to make future strawberry beds...

Picking vegetables from the garden ...

And cooking ...

And freezing ...

What seems like every day! I think we need to have a free produce stand outside!

Making plum jelly with a hint of blueberry from the produce picking with my daddy, and I must say ... It is delicious!

Spending beautiful days on the lake ...

Eating lunches on the boat that my husband fixed :)

(Please excuse the feet!)

I was also thankful that the boat next to us not seeing my bottoms fall off when I jumped back in our boat ... oops! :)

We have also enjoyed beautiful skies ...

and sunsets in the back yard ...

I have enjoyed kissing on my wonderful husband, arguing over who is the better dishwasher (yes, honey, you are, and you can prove it to me anytime!), and whispering sweet nothings in each others ears before we go to bed ...

For eating, sleeping, working, playing, and repeating ...

and watching Tootsie be content under the tree ...

Here's to freedom, being busy, and enjoying life ...

I will be back next week to share with you our vacation with the Hale Family! Oh boy!
