So I made a Happy Birthday banner! I just love it and it was not that hard. I went to the Hobby Lobby and got some fun scrapbook paper that was 50% off. My intentions were to cut them in cute triangles, but after much debate and Ken telling me that I would drive myself crazy, I just decide to get the most out of my paper and make squares out of rectangles. This is how I did it:
I took the 12x12 scrapbook paper and measure 6 inches, marked it, and then cut it. (I guess you could just fold the paper in half and cut up the crease. If I had stopped and thought about this a little longer, I would have figured this out. I am so complicated sometimes!)
Making rectangles. I then folded the rectangles to make squares. Since I wanted “Happy Birthday” on both sides of the paper, I did not cut the on the creases, but just left a rectangle.
I found some cutesy font. This is CK Daisy. (Do not Google it to find it. You can’t. I only had it on one computer. Could not find it any where else.)
I painstakely cut out the letters. I like these letters not only for the cutesy flower, but they were outlined, so I did not waste much ink. This is a long process, so if you want to endure it, watch a movie. I would choose either Steel Magnolias, Fried Green Tomatoes, or A League of Their Own. (Powerful women!) If you don’t want to endure it, you can find someone who sells vinyl letters or get letters at the Hobby Lobby.
I then glued the letters on and Hello …
Aren’t they just cute! I am very excited about making my first “Happy Birthday” banner!!!
