Day Trip

Ken and I went on a little day trip. Enjoyed taking back roads, seeing leaves start to change, and enjoying some great food and conversation. The first place we went was:

Lynchburg, TN and the Jack Daniel's Distillary was wonderful. Great weather and an interesting tour guide. We have had family and friends go recently, and they had a lot of fun. We have been wanting to go for awhile now, but due to the hot summer, waited until now to do so. Unfortunately, they do not let you taste any homegrown juice, however, I did enjoy the mellowing room and the barrel house.

Next, we headed to Nashville to eat lunch here:

It was magnificant! We had some great fried cheese, cobb salad, fetticine alfredo, and of course cheesecake- Pecan Pumpkin and Reese Peanut Butter. Yummy, yummy, yummy!

And then on to:

It was very interesting to go to the Opry Mills Mall. Bass Pro is the only store open right now. I do believe the others will open in December. The Opryland Hotel will open back up in mid-November. I hope so, because I just love Nashville!

We had a really great time!

  1. We went to the JD Distillery over Memorial Day weekend. Loved it, the town and the cool water stream there. We went on a Sunday and they said during the week days there is a bus that will take you to the next county for a tasting but of course we were leaving the next day. After the tour, we went to the square at Lynchburg and shopped around. The JD fudge was SOOO good. Hope you got a taste!! And The Cheesecake Factory... there is NOTHING like it. My favorite is the red velvet 6 layer mouth watering piece of heaven. Glad y'all had a great time. Road trips with my love are always treasures! You'll have to check out my blog from our Lynchburg visit...
